Class A noxious weeds are LCNWCB's highest priority for early detection and rapid eradication. The legal requirement for Class A weed control is total eradication of all plant parts. These weeds are either absent in Lewis county or are here with very limited distribution. The only class A species that is currently known to be present in Lewis County is a single infestation of Milk Thistle, which was found in a common dumping area of Centralia. Background Affordable housing means that a person spends no more than 30% of their income on rent or mortgage. A person making $60,000 per year can afford something different than a person making minimum wage. Today in Lewis County, 48% of renters pay more than 30% of their income on housing and 24% pay more than 50% on housing. Short Term Rental Registry Process
On January 1, 2026, all owners and operators of short-term rentals (also known as Air BnBs) will be required to register the rental through Lewis County. Owners/operators will have one calendar year to come into compliance. The registry application will be available starting on January 1, 2026 through the online portal (link coming soon).The requirements are specified in Lewis County Code Chapter 17.105.
