Chips for Trails in Vader
The Third Annual Chips for Trails event will take place at McMurphy Park off Annonen Road in Vader in celebration of Earth Day. The Vader Parks Board, volunteers and city staff will be collecting branches and brush for chipping during this time. The material will be chipped up and spread onto trails of the Vader park. During the event, Lewis County residents are permitted to drop off brush and branches to be chipped that are no larger than 5 inches in diameter. Tire Recycling Event in Morton
A free tire recycling events will be held on May 7 and May 8 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the Bob Lyle Community Center parking lot. The address for the site is 700 Main Street in Morton.The events, which is for Lewis County residents only, will accept 15 tires per person, passenger and light truck tires on or off the rim, and semi-truck tires off the rim. The Class Bs featured here are either already found in Lewis County or have been confirmed in neighboring counties and are likely to be introduced. Weeds are often spread unintentionally through the movement of materials, such as hay, dirt, gravel, and woodchips. They are also brought in by pets, animals, floods, ATVs and other vehicles, and watercraft. Finally, many are brought in intentionally as ornamentals by those who are unfamiliar with the noxiousness of that particular species. LEOFF Board
The LEOFF Disability Board was created pursuant to RCW 41.26.110 to establish uniform methods of procedure for the conduct of the business as established by state law. It is comprised of five members, one representing the legislative body of the county; one representing the legislative body of the cities and towns, one representing fire fighters, one representing law enforcement officers, and one member at large who is selected by the other board members.
