Utility Services
The Utility Services Division is responsible for establishing, operating, and maintaining public systems for the supply, treatment, and distribution of water and for the collection and treatment of wastewater and stormwater. The Utility division coordinates closely with the Engineering Services' surface water engineer. State Extends Timeline for Retail Food Code Revision Input
Due to the impacts of COVID-19, the Washington State Board of Health (BOH) has extended the deadline for additional public input into changes to the state’s Retail Food Code (WAC 246-215). Public comment will now be accepted until September 29, 2020.BOH is required by law to update the Retail Food Code periodically to ensure it addresses current foodborne illness risks and best methods of prevention. Last Weekend to Recycle Christmas Trees & Lights
Residents can drop off their Christmas trees and burned out holiday lights from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today in the parking lot outside the Centralia transfer station at 1411 S. Tower Ave. This is the last weekend to drop off Christmas trees for recycling. Please remove all decorations and tinsel from the trees. Donations will be accepted to support WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteer community outreach programs. Flocked and artificial trees will not be accepted. You may dispose of flocked or artificial trees at the transfer station, where regular fees will apply ($20 minimum for 340 pounds …
