Deputy Gallagher’s patrol vehicle struck an elk on US Highway 12, near mile post 130, just outside of Packwood, WA. Deputy Gallagher was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he succumbed to his injuries …

The Veterans Advisory Board is held the first Wednesday of each month at 11:00 am in the Lower Level BOCC Room of the Lewis County Historic Courthouse. This is an open meeting and the public is welcome. Veterans' Relief Fund Veterans or spouses of veterans may be eligible for assistance through the Veterans Relief Fund. Joint hearing to consider the adoption of the draft Lewis County Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Plan update
The Lewis County Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Plan, a document required by Washington State law, RCW 70A.205.040. The law mandates each county prepare a comprehensive solid waste management plan, and update it periodically, is nearing its current update phase. With collaboration from the Lewis County Solid Waste Advisory Committee -- an advisory group to the Lewis County Commissioners, each city within Lewis County, and a consulting team from Herrera Environmental, the Lewis County Solid Waste Utility has completed a draft update of the Lewis County Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Plan. The Records Division of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is open to serve the public Monday through Friday, (except Holidays), 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. We are located in the Law and Justice Center at 345 W. Main Street, Chehalis, Washington.The records staff independently coordinates and performs a broad range of technical support services to the Operations, Corrections and Services Bureaus. County seeks applicants for Public Health & Social Services Advisory Board
The Lewis County Board of Health (BOH) is accepting applications from Lewis County residents interested in serving on the Lewis County Public Health & Social Services (PHSS) Advisory Board. Applications are due by 3:00 pm on Friday, January 30.The thirteen-member volunteer board provides recommendations to the Board of Health on a variety of community health, environmental health, and social service issues.
