    The Lewis County Clerk's Office is authorized by the U.S. Department of State to accept passport applications. Passport applications may be submitted, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday.We will attempt to process passport applications for everyone that comes into the office during the hours listed above, but the Clerk's statutory duties take precedence.     INTRODUCTIONLewis County Code LCC8.55 includes requirements to protect public drinking water sources. The regulations require that wells be surrounded by an area of sanitary control.     CORRECTIONS BUREAU– CHIEF CHRIS SWEET The Corrections Bureau encompasses the Lewis County Jail. The Lewis County Jail was remodeled in 2005 and is approximately 69,000 square feet.The Corrections Bureau is comprised of a Captain, Lieutenant, six Sergeants, forty-one Corrections Deputies, an Administrative Assistant and five Support Technicians. CUSTODY DIVISION: The Custody Division is directly supervised by a Lieutenant and consists of four custody squads.
