    The Lewis County Noxious Weed Control Board adopted the 2014 County Weed List. The new list for 2014 includes a couple of new additions that landowners and citizens should be aware of: Lesser celandine, (Ficaria verna) or fig buttercup is a low growing perennial that is visible in the spring and dies back by mid-summer.     The Centralia Prevention Coalition is hosting two upcoming Parenting Preteens Together Series for parents of kids ages 9-14. You're invited 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19 or Nov. 16, or Jan. 11 and Feb. 8, 2024 at Centralia High School. Everyone is welcome and there is no cost to attend.   7. Scrap Metal & Appliance Recycling Event

    Lewis County residents may recycle scrap metal and household appliances for free at the old solid waste drop box at 1105 Winlock-Vader Road from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 19. Household appliances accepted in the recycling containers at the event include washers, dryers, hot water heaters, and dish washers. Please set refrigerated appliances aside in a designated area at the event. Refrigerated units include refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioning units. Please make sure all appliances recycled are free of garbage and debris. This event is for recycling scrap metal and household appliances. No other materials will be accepted.
