  6. Recycle up to 10 fluorescent bulbs at Hazo Hut today

    Hazo Hut at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia, is open today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residential customers can drop off the following items for free up to 10 burned out fluorescent lights, leftover household chemicals, and up to 5 gallons of used motor oil or antifreeze. The household hazardous waste collection facility is open every Wednesday and the first and third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  7. Document shredding available at Randle event today

    The LeMay Mobile Shredding truck will be at the Community Recycle Event at the Lewis County (Kiona) Road Shop, 8911 US Hwy 12, Randle May 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents may bring up to 5 bags or boxes or sensitive documents they would like to have shredded. This is a free community service. The shredded paper will be hauled to a paper recycling facility for processing. Funded in part by a Local Solid Waste Financial Assistance Grant from Department of Ecology.

  8. Comprehensive Plan and Development Regulation Amendments

    Urban Growth Area (UGA) Clean Up ProjectPortions of the existing Urban Growth Area (UGA) boundaries have mapping irregularities and inconsistencies that create confusion in land use and planning decisions, and the UGA cleanup aims to correct these discrepancies to ensure the boundaries accurately reflect adopted plans and support clearer, more consistent growth management moving forward. Cannabis Code UpdateLewis County is considering amending the Lewis County Code to allow cannabis retail and production in unincorporated areas to increase revenue generated from sales tax.

    The Public Works Department procures services, equipment, and materials in accordance with state, federal, and local regulations. The method used to select a provider depends upon the amount of the purchase, the source of the funding, and the nature of the project, among other things.To expedite this process and encourage competition in our market, the department has converted it's solicitation management to OpenGov and our vendor roster management to MRSC Rosters.   10. Deferred Disposition

    Under the deferred disposition sentencing option, youth are on supervision for 12 months and have several requirements including restitution, community service, compliance with curfew and attending school. Specific rules will also apply based on the individual youth. If the youth does not commit another crime during the 12 month probation period, then the charge is dismissed and cleared from their criminal history. Excluded from this program include youth who: Have committed a sex offense Have committed a violent offense Have a criminal history that includes a felony Have had a previous Deferred Disposition Has had two or more adjudications
