Solid Waste Utility
Lewis County Solid Waste Utility operates solid waste transfer stations in Centralia and Morton for disposal, recycling, and yard waste drop off, and provides education and outreach regarding proper solid waste management, waste reduction, recycling, composting and hazardous waste.

Transportation Improvement
Transportation Improvement ProgramThe Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) represents the county's transportation priorities for a six-year time period and identifies road and bridge construction, and other transportation improvement projects throughout the unincorporated county. The Annual Construction Program (ACP) represents the first year of the program. Pursuant to Washington law and administrative code (RCW 36.81.121 & WAC 136-15-150), every year Public Works prepares a TIP and ACP for adoption by the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners after a public hearing thereon. Surface Water / Utilities
The Surface Water / Utilities Section is responsible for the following functions: Reviewing applications of proposed developments for concerns impacting Public Works. Determining that stormwater submittals meet requirements of local stormwater regulations. Addressing drainage of public roads and right-of-ways. Providing hydrologic and hydraulic assistance within Public Works, and to other departments and programs. Obtaining agency environmental permits for Public Works projects. Evaluating adequate stormwater management measures to meet specific local, state, and federal requirements. Administering consultant contracts for specific water management and environmental projects. Applying for grants to fund surface water management and environmental project.
