Public Participation

All STRAG meetings are open to the public. The public is invited to participate in meetings via Zoom or in person. During each meeting, there is a public comment period. People wishing to provide comments may sign up during the meeting and are allowed three (3) minutes to speak. Written comments may be provided to the Chair before, after or during the meeting. Public comment is not a discussion with STRAG members or staff. Members and staff will not be responding to questions raised during public comment. Questions can be submitted to the Chair, or staff, before the meeting and may be answered during the meeting at the members’ discretion.

Please note, public comment is different than testimony. Testimony means formal statements, written or verbal, provided during the open record on a matter that is being considered for action by the Planning Commission or Board of County Commissions. Public comment means written or verbal feedback during regular meetings aiming to inform the STRAG on issues relevant to the purpose of the advisory group. Only testimony creates standing to appeal a decision by the Board of County Commissioners. The STRAG is an advisory group and does not receive testimony.

Staff have created guidance for those who would like to provide public comment to the STRAG.
