RCW 13.32A.010The legislature finds that within any group of people there exists a need for guidelines for acceptable behavior and that, presumptively, the experience and maturity of parents make them better qualified to establish guidelines beneficial to and protective of their children. School
The Chehalis School District operates a full-time, in-house program for youth. The program is geared to help them stay on track with a key focus on the youth/student's need.All detained youth are required to attend school Monday through Friday and can receive credits for completed classes while in custody.We provide school year round with the acceptation of a three-week summer break in August.Youth that have dropped out of school or are in alternative programs have the chance to work towards their GED or high school equivalence while in custody.

Spiritual Counseling
Youth have opportunities throughout the week to do group counseling and/or individualized counseling. Services provided by:Young Life who provides services to connect youth to Christ while in custody and out of custody such as, but not limited to team building exercises, bible study, one-on-one counseling.Christ for Life and Prisons for Christ who provide services such as, but not limited to bible study, seminary, in custody concerts, and one-on-one counseling to those in custody.These services are available throughout the week to any in-custody youth who would like to participate.

Courtroom Procedures
Court Location Juvenile Court hearings will be held at Juvenile Court located at 1255 SW Pacific Ave. Before Entering The Courtroom Please leave all non-essential items at home or in your vehicle before entry.Check in at the front counter.No food, drink or gum in the courtroom.Turn off cell phones and pagers.Remove any hat or non-prescription sunglasses.Wear clean, appropriate clothing. Pajamas and baggy clothing are inappropriate. In The Courtroom Stand when the judge enters the courtroom.Do not have side discussions with others while waiting your turn.Be respectful when addressing the court.Always answer verbally when spoken to. Medical/Prescription Needs
While in custody, services are available to address medical needs. Juvenile Detention is under contract with an on-call physician through Northwest Pediatrics.
