Connecting Neighbors for Earth Month Bonus Event: Chipping Event
Chipping Event10 a.m.-3 p.m. Floral Park Sustainability Project, 104 E. Floral St., Centralia, WA 98531WSU Lewis Co. MRC Volunteers host a chipping event. Residents are invited to bring branches smaller than 8-inches in diameter for chipping. A contractor will chip the branches and volunteers will spread chips on Floral Park trails.

Release Information
Juveniles can only be released to their parent/guardian. If the parent/guardian is unable to pick up the juvenile upon release, there must be prior approval from the juvenile’s Probation Officer.The parent/guardian must provide proper identification prior to the juvenile’s release.*Medication will only be released to the parent/guardian.If a parent/guardian refuses to pick up the juvenile from Juvenile Detention, the Juvenile Court staff will notify the local law enforcement agency and Child Protective Services (CPS) to report abandonment.

Public hearing for the purpose of leasing solid waste transfer stations
The Lewis County of Commissioners will host a public hearing on or after 10 a.m. March 11 in the Commissioners' hearing room on the second floor of the Historic Lewis County Courthouse in Chehalis. The purpose of the hearing is to consider renewal of the leases of its solid waste transfer stations in Centralia and Morton to the Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1, a quasi-municipal corporation. Recycle fluorescent lights accepted in Morton today (3/12)
Residents may drop of household hazardous waste, including up to 15 compact fluorescent lights, for free from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the East Lewis County Transfer Station, 6745 U.S. Hwy 12, just east of Morton. Examples of household hazardous materials that can be dropped off are cleaners, lawn, garden, and pool chemicals. Businesses may not bring hazardous materials to the East Lewis County Transfer Station. For more information, please call 360-740-1221 or email swu@lewiscountywa.gov.
