Lewis County Seeks Consultant for Comprehensive Plan Update
Lewis County and all cities in the county are required by the Washington State Growth Management Act to update their comprehensive plans. The Lewis County Comprehensive Plan identifies a vision for the future for the community, and establishes a set of long-term goals, policies and land use patterns for growth over a 20-year period. Updates will include changes to the zoning map and development regulations. The updates must be completed by June 2025. Special Meeting of the Lewis County Solid Waste Advisory Committee (virtual only)
The Lewis County Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) will host a special meeting at 1:00 p.m. Jan. 10 to receive an overview of the Lewis County Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Plan draft update. A consulting firm, Herrera Environmental, has been working with the SWAC and County staff to update the document. Tire Recycling Events in Centralia & Winlock March 5
Two free tire recycling events will be held on March 5 & 6 and March 12 & 13 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at two Lewis County locations. One collection event will take place at the City of Winlock Public Works Department, 712 NW Dexter Avenue, Winlock, and the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds, 1909 S. Gold St., Centralia.
