Household Hazardous Waste Satellite Collection Fall Event: Winlock
Satellite Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event: Residential customers may drop off their unwanted or left-over oil-based paint, cleaners, lawn, garden, pool chemicals, and other household chemicals from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 8 at the old solid waste Winlock Drop Box, 1105 Winlock-Vader Road, between Winlock and Vader. Please be prepared to leaves your containers at the event. Workers don't have a place to empty them, and return them to customers at satellite events. Limits for these events are 10 CFL lights, 5 gallons motor oil, 5 gallons antifreeze, 15 gallons oil-based paint, 5 gallons cooking oil, and no …

Household Hazardous Waste Satellite Collection Event: Morton
Lewis County residents may drop off unwanted household chemicals and fluorescent lights from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at the East Lewis County Transfer Station in Morton as part of the Utility's Household Hazardous Waste Satellite Events. Other recycling opportunities at this event: Styrofoam recycling and E-Cycle Recycling. The event will accept block and food service Styrofoam as long it is clean, empty, dry. Please keep like materials together in a clear plastic bag for drop-off. For E-Cycle items (televisions smaller than 55 inches, CPUs, and monitors) there is a limit of two items per household.

Lewis County extends search for night-by-night shelter provider
CHEHALIS – The Lewis County Board of County Commissioners has granted a two-week extension for submissions to a Request for Proposals (RFP) related to a future shelter program. The RFP, which seeks a provider to collaboratively design a permanent night-by-night shelter program with county staff, technical consultants, and citizen advisory committee members, now allows proposals to be submitted until 4 p.m. April 11, 2023.
