The Auditor’s Office consists of four departments,Financial ServicesDocument RecordingVehicle LicensingElectionsThe Auditor is responsible for examining all county financial transactions to ensure adequate coverage and proper reporting of expenditures for county funds. As county recorder, the Auditor is responsible for recording and preserving in perpetuity land ownership documents, surveys, plats, land corner records, state and federal tax liens, uniform commercial codes and other miscellaneous ordinances and legal records. The Auditor is also responsible for the licensing of motor vehicles in the county, and issues marriage licenses.Administrated by the County Auditor, the Elections Department conducts all general and special elections in accordance …

Ailanthus altissima Tree of Heaven - A deciduous tree growing up to 60 feet tall. Plant parts may be identified by a distinctive peanut butter/popcorn smell.Leaves: Leaves are compound and alternate, and each leaf has anywhere from 10-27 leaflets usually. Leaflets are mostly smooth-edged, except for a few rounded teeth and a visibly large gland on the underside, towards the base of the leaf.Flowers: Flowers bloom from May-July. Trees will either have male or female flower clusters at the tips of the stems with the male flowers being larger. Flowers are light green-yellow in color.Habitat: Commonly found near forest edges, …

Volunteers in the cities of Chehalis, Centralia, and sometimes other communities in Lewis County organize volunteers to pick up litter. The city of Chehalis has a group of active volunteers called the Chehalis Clean Team. They have a group on Facebook under their name: Chehalis Clean Team and you can get more information from the city of Chehalis website: Chehalis Clean Team. In Centralia, the group of volunteers is the Centralia Clean Team. They have an active group on Facebook under Centralia Clean Team.

Community Recycle Event scheduled for East County residents
The event will take place from *10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (except where noted) at the Lewis County Area 7 Road Shop (Kiona), 8911 US Hwy 12, Randle, WA 98377.Satellite Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event: Residential customers may drop off their unwanted or left-over cleaners, lawn, garden, pool chemicals, and other household chemicals. Please be prepared to leave your containers at the event. Workers don't have a place to empty them, and return them to customers at satellite events. Limits for these events are 15 CFL lights, 5 gallons motor oil, 5 gallons antifreeze, 5 gallons cooking oil, and no …

Reserve Deputy Coroner Program
The office has Reserve Deputy Coroner Academy which is a volunteer, non-paid position. The training consists of classroom, office responsibilities, ride along with law enforcement, observing dispatch and assisting Deputy Coroners on calls and in office.Reserve Deputy Coroners ride along with Deputy Coroners to scenes and assist with investigations under the supervision of the Deputy Coroner. Reserves gradually perform more complex roles during the investigations.The Reserve Deputy Coroner program does not guarantee paid employment but when time comes to hire paid Deputy Coroners we naturally look at the reserve staff first.At this time there is no plan to start a …

Fallopia x bohemica, Fallopia japonica, & Fallopia sachalinensis Bohemian knotweed is the hybridization of Giant and Japanese knotweeds.
