Sheriff's Response Team (SRT)
MIssion Statement The Lewis County Sheriff's Office maintains a group of specially trained and equipped deputies that are able to operate in a variety of tactical environments. SRT exists to minimize danger to the public and other law enforcement officers by responding to situations which exceed the capabilities and/or resources of a standard law enforcement response. The team is supervised by Captain Rick VanWyck. Goal To provide a tactical response team capable of rapid deployment, upon request, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Lewis County District Court Judge R.W. Buzzard is empowered to perform marriage ceremonies under the laws of the State of Washington. The Planned Growth Committee (PGC) is made up of the Mayor, or their designee, from each city in Lewis County and the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners.
