The Lewis County SWAC meets at 1:00 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month in the Lewis County Public Works Building, 2025 NE Kresky Ave., Chehalis, WA 98532. If a regularly scheduled meeting lands on a holiday, the chairperson may elect to cancel the meeting or members may vote to meet on an alternate date.Meetings are open to the public, but during the current pandemic restrictions the meetings are being held in person in a socially distanced setting, masked up if vaccinated or offered online via Zoom. The Real Estate Services Division is responsible for land management of properties, right-of-way, mapping, and geographic analysis in support of the Public Works Department and for the County overall.The Division manages the Public Works Department's assorted sets of historical maps, surveys, road way files, field notes, engineer tracings/drawings, and aerial photos.These are being indexed and scanned to preserve the integrity of the originals and to increase their availability. Passport Applications
The Lewis County Clerk's Office is authorized by the U.S. Department of State to accept passport applications. Passport applications may be submitted, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday.We will attempt to process passport applications for everyone that comes into the office during the hours listed above, but the Clerk's statutory duties take precedence. Designated Forest Land
RCW 84.33Land owners who wish current use assessment for property tax purposes on lands eligible for classification under the Designated Forest Land program must submit an application to the Lewis County Assessor's Office by December 31st. Applications taken in the calendar year prior to December 31st are inspected in the next year and either approved or denied. If the application is approved, it is taxed in the subsequent year.
