Cailen earned an Associates of Arts from Pierce College (1996), Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Washington (1998), and a Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech School of Law (2002). Cailen began her legal career representing survivors of domestic violence at the Legal Aid Society of Lubbock in Texas.
