The Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1 will hold a public hearing on or after 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2024, in the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners' hearing room at the Lewis County Courthouse, 351 N.W. North St., Chehalis, WA 98532. The public hearing is to receive public testimony on the proposal of the following rate increases for certain materials accepted at transfer stations operated by Lewis County. The Disposal District governing board meets monthly in the Lewis County Commissioners’ meeting room, second floor of the Lewis County Historic Courthouse, 351 N.W. North St., Chehalis. Juneteenth is a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States with enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation freeing the remaining slaves in Texas on June 19, 1865.The city of Centralia is holding a Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 17 at George Washington Park.
