Sensitive Document Shredding Event (Vader)
The Lewis County Solid Waste Utility is partnering with the City of Vader to offer Lewis County residents a chance to have their sensitive documents shredded, and then recycled. The event will take place at the City of Vader Public Works Shop at 376 7th St. Each customer may bring up to 3 Bags or Boxes of sensitive documents they would like shredded. The documents are shredded in the truck, and then hauled to a paper recycling facility.

If you see a tall, purple-flowering plant near the water with 4 to 6-sided stems and leaves that are lanceolate and opposite, you are looking at beauty that is actually a beast and needs to be weeded out!A dense web of roots makes this otherwise attractive plant an intolerable invasive. Invasive plants harm our state’s farms, economy and native ecosystems, and we all share responsibility for working to prevent, control and, where possible, eradicate them. Learning how to recognize noxious weeds is a basic element of good stewardship of our natural resources. Daucus carota Wild Carrot - An upright, taprooted herb that grows about 1-4 feet in height. Can be an annual, a short-lived perennial, or a biennial.Leaves: Leaves are thin and fern-like. Solid Waste Advisory Committee Meeting
The Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) will meet at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, in the large conference room of Lewis County Public Services, 2025 N.E. Kresky Ave., Chehalis. The SWAC is a group of volunteers who advise the Lewis County Board of Commissioners on solid waste management. The SWAC meets when there is a need to in the Public Services' large conference room. This meeting is barrier-free. Residents may drop of household hazardous waste for free from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia. Examples of household hazardous materials that can be dropped off are cleaners, lawn, garden, pool chemicals, and up to five gallons of used motor oil or 10 burned out fluorescent lights.
