Maintenance & Operations
Lewis County Maintenance & Operations is comprised of two separate divisions; Fleet Services and Road Maintenance. The Fleet Services Division is responsible for purchasing, liquidating, and mechanically maintaining the entire fleet of rolling stock and off road equipment. Currently, Fleet Services maintains and services vehicles at two separate locations. The Road Maintenance Division is responsible for providing cost effective, safe travel over the 1,053 miles of county roadway in Lewis County. The Public Works Department procures services, equipment, and materials in accordance with state, federal, and local regulations. The method used to select a provider depends upon the amount of the purchase, the source of the funding, and the nature of the project, among other things.To expedite this process and encourage competition in our market, the department has converted it's solicitation management to OpenGov and our vendor roster management to MRSC Rosters. Aerosol cans accepted at Hazo Hut today
Lewis County residents can drop off aerosol cans, unwanted lawn chemicals, household cleaners, up to five gallons of used motor oil, and up to 10 burned out fluorescent light bulbs at Hazo Hut at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia, today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. These are the limits for each household each day that the Hazo Hut is open. This time is reserved for residential customers only. Business customers must make an appointment by calling 360-740-1221 or emailing swu@lewiscountywa.gov.

Linaria vulgaris Yellow Toadflax - A perennial growing 8-31 inches tall from creeping roots. Forms colonies.Leaves: Many narrow, linear leaves up to 4 inches in length, alternating along the stem.Flowers: Flowers bloom from June-September. Many flowers crowd the top 2-9 inches of the plant. Flowers are yellow, hairy, and have orange "throats." Plan to attend Tools, Treasures, Treats & Cider, the second day of the Master Recycler Composters of Lewis County's first tool and bake sale to raise money to support the new MRC Tool Bucket Library from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Floral Park Sustainability Park, 103 E. Tire Recycling Events
When grant funding becomes available, Lewis County Code Enforcement and Lewis County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Utility Division partner to hold tire recycling events.At these events, passenger and light truck tires will be accepted for free, and the tires can be on or off the rim.
