Design
The Engineering Design Section develops roadway designs using local and state guidelines required for traffic volume, terrain, design speed, safety features, storm water runoff, and environmental concerns. Design production may be handled in-house or by contractors. Designs for new bridges are contracted to a structural engineer. Once the designs are complete, staff members help prepare contract specifications for open and competitive bidding by road and bridge construction companies. Inspection of contractors' construction operation are also handled by the staff from the Design, Construction, and Survey Sections.

Class A Priorities
Class A noxious weeds are LCNWCB's highest priority for early detection and rapid eradication. The legal requirement for Class A weed control is total eradication of all plant parts. Diversion
Diversion is an option to deal with a first or a minor offense a youth has committed where they wish to take responsibility for their action and make amends. The diversion agreement can require the juvenile to complete community service, counseling, classes, and/or restitution to name a few. Typically diversion is a one time opportunity, and upon completion, the youth has the opportunity to destroy their …
