Open Public Meeting Act Training
In partnership with the Washington State Attorney General's Office, this course is provided for commissioners and board members to help meet an important training requirement of the Open Government Trainings Act. Residents can drop off their Christmas trees and burned out holiday lights today and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot outside the Centralia transfer station at 1411 S. Tower Ave. The event concludes on Sunday! Please remove all decorations and tinsel from the trees. Donations will be accepted to support WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteer community outreach programs. Flocked and artificial trees will not be accepted. Solanum rostratum Buffalobur - An annual plant growing around 1.5-3 feet tall, covered in spines and hairs.Leaves: Alternate leaves 2-6 inches long. Leaves are irregularly cut into 5-7 lobes and are very prickly.Flowers: Flowers bloom from June-September. 3-15 flowers per flower cluster. MRC Tool Bucket Library Open House
The Master Recycler Composters of Lewis County have officially opened the MRC Tool Bucket Library and the Floral Park Sustainability Park. They are inviting the public to an open house from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 22 at Floral Park Sustainability Project, 103 E. Floral St., Centralia, to learn about both community programs. The tool library is just like a book library, but it offers tools for checkout.
