Fleet Services
Fleet Services Division is responsible for purchasing, liquidating, and mechanically maintaining vehicles and heavy equipment for all departments throughout the County fleet. The fleet's maintenance locations are comprised of two separate repair facilities. Sedans and light duty pickups (up through 1-ton) are serviced and maintained at the Motor Pool facility in downtown Chehalis, and trucks rated over 1-ton, including heavy duty off-road equipment, are maintained at the Central Shop location. Lewis County transfer stations close for Juneteenth holiday
Lewis County Transfer Stations in Centralia and Morton are closed today Thursday, June 19) in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday. This closure includes the Administration Office in Centralia. The transfer stations and Administration Office will resume regular hours on Friday, June 20.

Cannabis Code Update
Background Lewis County is seeking sustainable funding to help support essential local services, including public safety, infrastructure, and community programs. Cannabis sales currently are permitted in our surrounding counties and in most of the cities located in Lewis County. Between July 2023 and June 2024, cannabis sales in those cities totaled roughly $9 million. While the state collects a 37% excise tax on those sales, local jurisdictions that permit retail locations receive a dedicated portion of shared state tax revenue. Allowing retail locations in unincorporated Lewis County—such as in Packwood and the I5/Highway 12 interchange—could provide a modest but ongoing …
