    The office has Reserve Deputy Coroner Academy which is a volunteer, non-paid position. The training consists of classroom, office responsibilities, ride along with law enforcement, observing dispatch and assisting Deputy Coroners on calls and in office.Reserve Deputy Coroners ride along with Deputy Coroners to scenes and assist with investigations under the supervision of the Deputy Coroner.     On 04/10/12 the Lewis County Coroner’s Office was awarded accreditation through the International Association of Coroners & Medical Examiners (IACME). This process began in 2011 and culminated with the inspection process on 04/10/12. We are now one of only five coroner’s offices in Washington State to have received accreditation through this association.The IAC&ME has established a set of accreditation standards and these encompass administration, facilities, forensics and investigative for a total of 130 standards.     The Lewis County Board of Health (BOH) is accepting applications from Lewis County residents interested in serving on the Lewis County Public Health & Social Services (PHSS) Advisory Board.
