  3. Household hazardous waste can be dropped off in Morton (12/11)

    Lewis County residents can drop off unwanted household chemicals, up to five gallons of used motor oil, aerosol (spray) cans), and up to 10 burned out fluorescent light bulbs at Hazo Hut at the East Lewis County Transfer Station, 6745 US Hwy 12, Morton, today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. These are the limits for each household each day that the Hazo Hut is open. This time is reserved for residential customers only. Business customers must make an appointment by calling 360-740-1221 or emailing swu@lewiscountywa.gov.

Examples of this type of work that do NOT require a permit includes cleaning, changing, or retrofitting your tank with an effluent filter, measuring sludge accumulation, pumping the septic tank/pump chamber, or cleaning of the back-flow prevention valve.   7. MRC Tool Bucket Library Open House

    The Master Recycler Composters of Lewis County have officially opened the MRC Tool Bucket Library and the Floral Park Sustainability Park. They are inviting the public to an open house from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 22 at Floral Park Sustainability Project, 103 E. Floral St., Centralia, to learn about both community programs.     The LeMay Mobile Shredding truck will be at the WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter (MRC) Volunteers' Christmas Tree Recycling Event in the parking lot before you enter the Lewis County transfer station in Centralia at 1411 S. Tower Ave. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 3, 2026. Residential customers may bring up to 3 bags or boxes of sensitive documents they would like to have shredded.
