Holiday recycling event starts in Centralia
Residents can drop off their Christmas trees and burned out holiday lights starting today, Saturday and Sunday of this week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot outside the Centralia transfer station at 1411 S. Tower Ave. The event will continue for three consecutive weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Please remove all decorations and tinsel from the trees. Donations will be accepted to support WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteer community outreach programs. Flocked and artificial trees will not be accepted. Transportation Improvement ProgramThe Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) represents the county's transportation priorities for a six-year time period and identifies road and bridge construction, and other transportation improvement projects throughout the unincorporated county. The Annual Construction Program (ACP) represents the first year of the program. Hazo Hut in Centralia is open for residential customers
Hazo Hut at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia, is open today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residential customers can drop off the following items for free up to 10 burned out fluorescent lights, leftover household chemicals, and up to 5 gallons of used motor oil or antifreeze. The household hazardous waste collection facility is open every Wednesday and the first and third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
