Plan to attend Tools, Treasures & Treats, the Master Recycler Composters of Lewis County's first tool and bake sale to raise money to support the new MRC Tool Bucket Library. The two-day event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 10 and 11 at the Floral Park Sustainability Park, 103 E. Floral St., Centralia. Donated tools will be for sale as well as items baked by local volunteers. On Oct. 11, a cider press event will take place. The Real Estate Services Division is responsible for land management of properties, right-of-way, mapping, and geographic analysis in support of the Public Works Department and for the County overall.The Division manages the Public Works Department's assorted sets of historical maps, surveys, road way files, field notes, engineer tracings/drawings, and aerial photos.These are being indexed and scanned to preserve the integrity of the originals and to increase their availability. Surface Water / Utilities
The Surface Water / Utilities Section is responsible for the following functions: Reviewing applications of proposed developments for concerns impacting Public Works. Determining that stormwater submittals meet requirements of local stormwater regulations. Addressing drainage of public roads and right-of-ways. Providing hydrologic and hydraulic assistance within Public Works, and to other departments and programs. Obtaining agency environmental permits for Public Works projects. Evaluating adequate stormwater management measures to meet specific local, state, and federal requirements. Administering consultant contracts for specific water management and environmental projects. Applying for grants to fund surface water management and environmental project.
