How Levy Rates Are Calculated
Basic information regarding how levy rates are calculated This is to help inform you on how your taxes are established.The process to calculate property tax is simply the total market value of the parcel multiplied by the TCA total tax rate divided by 1000. Example below:100,000 x 10.123456789123 / 1000 = $1,012.35VALUE (100,000)The Lewis County Assessor Office will revalue each parcel every 6 years as mandated by statute; unless there are improvements or modifications made to the property. Eradication: Class A Noxious Weeds Class A noxious weeds are Lewis County Noxious Weed Control's highest priority for early detection and rapid eradication. Generally, these noxious weeds are either entirely absent in Washington State or are only present in a very limited distribution. As such, and as required by law, the management goal for these weed species is total eradication in all plant parts. Garlic mustard, Giant hogweed, False brome and Milk thistle are all examples of Class A noxious weeds that have become more common in the state in recent years and could conceivably arrive in Lewis County from …

Residents can drop off household chemicals in Morton (7/10)
Lewis County residents can drop off unwanted household chemicals, up to five gallons of used motor oil, and up to 10 burned out fluorescent light bulbs at Hazo Hut at the East Lewis County Transfer Station, 6745 US Hwy 12, Morton, today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. These are the limits for each household each day that the Hazo Hut is open. This time is reserved for residential customers only. Business customers must make an appointment by calling 360-740-1221 or emailing swu@lewiscountywa.gov.
