Hazo Hut at the transfer station in Centralia, 1411 S. Tower Ave. is open today. Each household can drop off a maximum of five gallons of used motor oil and up to 10 burned out fluorescent lights. Unwanted household chemicals, excluding paint and PaintCare items (Please visit PaintCare.org to learn more about PaintCare items and find out where to drop off PaintCare items locally), and up to five gallons of used antifreeze can also be dropped off. This time is reserved for residential customers only. Business customers must make an appointment.

U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency Medicine Collection Day, 10am - 2pm
The DEA is sponsoring an unused medicine collection day. This program is free to the public. The event will take place at the Rochester Community Center located at 10140 U.S. Highway 12, Rochester, WA 98579. The hours of the event are 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. Prescription medications and over the counter solid medications (tablets and capsules) are included in the program. Illegal substances will not be accepted. Deferred Disposition
Under the deferred disposition sentencing option, youth are on supervision for 12 months and have several requirements including restitution, community service, compliance with curfew and attending school. Specific rules will also apply based on the individual youth. If the youth does not commit another crime during the 12 month probation period, then the charge is dismissed and cleared from their criminal history. Excluded from this program include youth who: Have committed a sex offense Have committed a violent offense Have a criminal history that includes a felony Have had a previous Deferred Disposition Has had two or more adjudications

Free Christmas Tree and Wreathe Recycling
The Lewis County Solid Waste Utility and the Master Gardener and Master Recycler Composter programs are sponsoring a free Christmas tree and wreathe collection event. Please remove all decorations, tinsel, and wires. Flocked or artificial trees will not be accepted. Trees from commercial operations will not be accepted. Donations will be accepted to support the Master Gardener and Master Recycler Composter programs. Satellite Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event: Residential customers may drop off their unwanted or left-over oil-based paint, cleaners, lawn, garden, pool chemicals, and other household chemicals from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 8 at the old solid waste Winlock Drop Box, 1105 Winlock-Vader Road, between Winlock and Vader.
