    December 31, 2012, is the last day to apply for a Senior/Disability Exemption for the 2013 tax year. Please contact the Lewis County Assessor's office at (360) 740-1392 or in person at 351 NW North St, Chehalis, on the 2nd floor of the Historical Courthouse. Information can be found on the requirements for qualification in the Washington State Department of Revenue's Publication Property Tax Exemption for Senior Citizens and Disabled Persons.

    RCW 84.33Land owners who wish current use assessment for property tax purposes on lands eligible for classification under the Designated Forest Land program must submit an application to the Lewis County Assessor's Office by December 31st. Applications taken in the calendar year prior to December 31st are inspected in the next year and either approved or denied. If the application is approved, it is taxed in the subsequent year.
