City of Chehalis Organics Permit Program
Chehalis residents living within the city limits have a drop off opportunity for yard waste. A resident may purchase a seasonal organics waste permit. This permit allows a resident to drop off yard waste material that will be composted at a location managed by the City of Chehalis. Please click here for the 2024 season information. Residents are invited to bring branches smaller than 8-inches in diameter for chipping. A contractor will chip the branches and volunteers will spread chips on Floral Park trails.

Sensitive document shredding service offered in Chehalis
Residents may bring up to 5 bags or boxes or sensitive documents they would like to have shredded. This is a free community service. The shredded paper will be recycled at a paper recycling facility. The event will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of the spring Repair & Sustainability Fair at the Chehalis Outfitters, 1757 N. National Ave., Chehalis, WA. Funded in part by a Local Solid Waste and Financial Assistance Grant from the Department of Ecology.

The office has Reserve Deputy Coroner Academy which is a volunteer, non-paid position. The training consists of classroom, office responsibilities, ride along with law enforcement, observing dispatch and assisting Deputy Coroners on calls and in office.Reserve Deputy Coroners ride along with Deputy Coroners to scenes and assist with investigations under the supervision of the Deputy Coroner.
