Lewis County Solid Waste Advisory Committee meets today (4/9)
The Lewis County SWAC meets at 1:00 p.m. the second Wednesday of every other month in the new Lewis County Public Works Building, 57 W. Main St., Chehalis, WA 98532. If a regularly scheduled meeting lands on a holiday, members may elect to cancel the meeting or vote to meet on an alternate date. Meetings are open to the public, and offered online via Zoom. Please contact the Lewis County Solid Waste Utility Office at 360-740-1451 to receive Zoom registration information.

Public hearing for the purpose of leasing solid waste transfer stations
The Lewis County of Commissioners will host a public hearing on or after 10 a.m. March 11 in the Commissioners' hearing room on the second floor of the Historic Lewis County Courthouse in Chehalis. The purpose of the hearing is to consider renewal of the leases of its solid waste transfer stations in Centralia and Morton to the Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1, a quasi-municipal corporation. The Real Estate Services Division is responsible for land management of properties, right-of-way, mapping, and geographic analysis in support of the Public Works Department and for the County overall.The Division manages the Public Works Department's assorted sets of historical maps, surveys, road way files, field notes, engineer tracings/drawings, and aerial photos.These are being indexed and scanned to preserve the integrity of the originals and to increase their availability. The Planned Growth Committee (PGC) is made up of the Mayor, or their designee, from each city in Lewis County and the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners.
