Road Maintenance
The Lewis County Road Maintenance Division is responsible for providing cost effective and safe travel over the 1,053 miles of county roadway. To accomplish this, the division has five Road Maintenance area shops, a vegetation & guardrail program, and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement. Each maintenance area has an appropriate number of personnel and equipment assigned to handle the routine road maintenance, repairs, and storm response duties and responsibilities in their area. The goal of the Tuberculosis Program is to stop the spread of tuberculosis. This is done through targeted testing, early diagnosis and treatment. What services are provided by the Health Department? We provide knowledgeable and compassionate case management to people diagnosed with tuberculosis that do not have insurance or a primary care provider.We conduct contact investigations to ensure that people who have been exposed to tuberculosis are offered appropriate screening.We provide consultation to health care providers in the community.Services are confidential.Cost is not a barrier for treatment.Interpreters are available upon request at no charge to the client. About Lewis County Solid Waste Utility
The Lewis County Solid Waste Utility is a division of the Lewis County Department of Public Works. It operates transfer stations in Centralia and Morton, where all garbage collected in Lewis County gets dropped off and consolidated in containers to be hauled to a large landfill in Cowlitz County.LeMay is the hauler that collects curbside garbage as well as refuse from businesses, and brings it to one of the transfer stations.
