Notice of a Hearing before the Board of Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1, for Resolution No. 005-12, Whereas, RCW 36.58.130 authorizes a Solid Waste Disposal District to collect fees necessary to pay for the handling and disposal of solid waste. The hearing is scheduled for January 28, 2013 at or after the hour of 1:30 pm at the Lewis County Commissioner's Office, (Lewis County Courthouse, 2nd Floor, 351 NW North St, Chehalis, WA, 98532). Documents added to the Mitigation Site Watering Contract
Two new documents have been added to the Mitigation Site Watering Contract on the Lewis County Contract Ads and Calls for Bid page. The bids are due June 04, 2019 by 11:00 am at the Lewis County Commissioner's Office, (Lewis County Courthouse, 2nd Floor, Room 210, 351 NW North St, Chehalis, WA, 98532). Short Term Rental Registry Process
On January 1, 2026, all owners and operators of short-term rentals (also known as Air BnBs) will be required to register the rental through Lewis County. Owners/operators will have one calendar year to come into compliance. The registry application will be available starting on January 1, 2026 through the online portal (link coming soon).The requirements are specified in Lewis County Code Chapter 17.105. Release Information
Juveniles can only be released to their parent/guardian. If the parent/guardian is unable to pick up the juvenile upon release, there must be prior approval from the juvenile’s Probation Officer.The parent/guardian must provide proper identification prior to the juvenile’s release.*Medication will only be released to the parent/guardian.If a parent/guardian refuses to pick up the juvenile from Juvenile Detention, the Juvenile Court staff will notify the local law enforcement agency and Child Protective Services (CPS) to report abandonment.

Holiday Recycling starts in Morton
Christmas trees, holiday lights, cardboard shipping boxes, and wrapping paper can be dropped off for free at the East Lewis County Transfer Station, 6745 US Hwy. 12, just east of Morton, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. from Dec. 26 through Jan. 6, Mondays through Saturdays, except on the New Year's Day Holiday. Check in with the scale house for directions on where to drop off the holiday items for recycling. Artificial, flocked, or decorated trees will need to go in the garbage, where regular fees apply ($15 minimum fee for 280 pounds or less).
