The Lewis County Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Plan, a document required by Washington State law, RCW 70A.205.040. The law mandates each county prepare a comprehensive solid waste management plan, and update it periodically, is nearing its current update phase. With collaboration from the Lewis County Solid Waste Advisory Committee -- an advisory group to the Lewis County Commissioners, each city within Lewis County, and a consulting team from Herrera Environmental, the Lewis County Solid Waste Utility has completed a draft update of the Lewis County Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Plan. Fleet Services
Fleet Services Division is responsible for purchasing, liquidating, and mechanically maintaining vehicles and heavy equipment for all departments throughout the County fleet. The fleet's maintenance locations are comprised of two separate repair facilities. Sedans and light duty pickups (up through 1-ton) are serviced and maintained at the Motor Pool facility in downtown Chehalis, and trucks rated over 1-ton, including heavy duty off-road equipment, are maintained at the Central Shop location. Know Your Soil and How to Improve it with Compost!: Attend this WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter workshop at 11 a.m. Feb. 21 at the Centralia Timberland Library to learn how to test your soil. By knowing your soil type (or which nutrients it may be lacking) you can make it better with compost. Daphne laureola Spurge Laurel - An evergreen shrub that gets to be around 1.5 to 5 feet tall. Plants can either be upright or arched at the base before spreading upwards.Leaves: Leaves alternate and are more prominent towards the top of the shoots. They are dark green and shiny on the top with lighter undersides. Leaves are oval in shape and about 0.8-5.1 inches long.Flowers: Flowers bloom from March through June.
