Aluminum cans and tin cans can be recycled in your curbside recycling container.Curbside recycling is available to all residents in Lewis County. Please rinse your cans, make sure they are empty and dry. Please throw away loose tin can lids. If possible, leave attached when opening and turn them inside the can when recycling. No other scrap metal can be included in your curbside recycling container. Lewis County transfer stations in Centralia and Morton are open regular hours today, Nov. 28. The administration office at the transfer station in Centralia, however, is closed. It will return to regular hours on Monday, Dec. 1.

Let’s keep Lewis County clean!The Lewis County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Utility Adopt-A-Road Program is now available for for community groups or like-minded friends and neighbors to pick up litter along county roads. This program was approved by Lewis County Commissioners in mid-August, and is now ready to get Lewis County residents, businesses and community groups signed up to keep our road clean. Organizations and individuals can submit an application to adopt a section of road to clean at least four times a year, or sign up for a one-time clean up of community, neighborhood, or park.Once an …

Transfer stations closed for Christmas Day!
Lewis County transfer stations in Centralia and Morton are closed on Thursday, December 25 for the Christmas Day Holiday. Transfer stations will resume their regular hours on Friday, Dec. 26. Centralia is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In-bound gates in Centralia close 15 minutes prior to facility closure.; Morton is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
