The Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) is looking for individuals interested in serving on the county’s Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC), a group of volunteers who help develop programs and policies concerning solid waste handling and disposal.Solid Waste Advisory Committee members weigh in on proposed rules, policies and ordinances, and they help Lewis County Solid Waste Utility staff develop a five-year “Solid Waste Management Plan” to guide how Lewis County manages garbage and recycling. A free tire recycling events will be held on May 7 and May 8 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the Bob Lyle Community Center parking lot.
