Tools, Treasures & Treats!
Plan to attend Tools, Treasures & Treats, the Master Recycler Composters of Lewis County's first tool and bake sale to raise money to support the new MRC Tool Bucket Library. The two-day event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 10 and 11 at the Floral Park Sustainability Park, 103 E. Floral St., Centralia. Donated tools will be for sale as well as items baked by local volunteers. On Oct. 11, a cider press event will take place. Napavine Sensitive Document Shredding Event
Lewis County residents will have an opportunity to bring sensitive documents they would like shredded, and then recycled, to Napavine City Hall, 407 SW Birch St., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 16. Residents may bring up to three bags or boxes they would like shredded. Customers will empty the contents of the bags or boxes into a container that will be tipped into a truck that will shred the documents on the spot. New GIS Interactive Map Now Online
New online applications are being implemented for parcel data and for mapping. The Assessor has a new PATS parcel lookup system (now called Lewis County Parcels), and the GIS Division of Public Works has reworked the online mapping programs to to be compatible with it. We have combined the functionality of the two previous programs (PATSMap & CARLMap) into a single new program, the Lewis County Web Map.This program gives users added control over what layers to turn on and has newly available data, such as 2ft contours. The first thing everyone should know is the good news that as of Friday, February 22, 2019, there have been NO confirmed measles cases in Lewis County.Lewis County readers may have heard that there is a continuing measles outbreak in Clark County, and that cases have now popped up in states as far away as Georgia.
