  8. Fire Marshal issues a total burn ban on unincorporated Lewis County

    CHEHALIS – Burn restrictions have been expanded for all of unincorporated Lewis County, effective immediately.Lewis County Fire Marshal Doyle Sanford said the expanded burn ban prohibits all outdoor burning, which includes recreational fires. Until modified by the Lewis County Commissioners or the Lewis County Fire Marshal, only liquid gas or propane camp stoves that do not use solid briquettes and have on/off controls are permitted.     On January 1, 2026, all owners and operators of short-term rentals (also known as Air BnBs) will be required to register the rental through Lewis County. Owners/operators will have one calendar year to come into compliance.
