  6. Lewis County Public Health and Social Services and The Centralia Prevention Coalition offers a Parenting Preteens Together Series

    The Centralia Prevention Coalition is hosting two upcoming Parenting Preteens Together Series for parents of kids ages 9-14. You're invited 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19 or Nov. 16, or Jan. 11 and Feb. 8, 2024 at Centralia High School. Everyone is welcome and there is no cost to attend. The series is all about bringing parents together to learn from each other and is designed to support parents in setting family rules.

    WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteers are hosting a Basic Home Composting Workshop at Centralia College East in Morton as part of the Repair & Sustainability Fair. Learn how to convert organic materials from your yard, garden, and kitchen into nutrient rich compost to improve your soil, promote healthy plants, and reduce pesky pests! Participants who are interested can enter their names into a drawing for a free compost bin. This event is free to the public. Support for this workshop is provided in part by the Washington State Department of Ecology.

  10. Deferred Disposition

    Under the deferred disposition sentencing option, youth are on supervision for 12 months and have several requirements including restitution, community service, compliance with curfew and attending school. Specific rules will also apply based on the individual youth. If the youth does not commit another crime during the 12 month probation period, then the charge is dismissed and cleared from their criminal history. Excluded from this program include youth who: Have committed a sex offense Have committed a violent offense Have a criminal history that includes a felony Have had a previous Deferred Disposition Has had two or more adjudications
