Toxic tansy ragwort disposal scheduled July 14-15
Lewis County WSU Extension Noxious Weed Control is hosting Tansy ragwort disposal sites Friday, July 14 in Randle, Mossyrock and Onalaska, and Saturday, July 15 in PeEll, Toledo and Centralia. Tansy is toxic and can be lethal to livestock.

Final Day for Free Christmas Tree Recycling in Morton
Christmas trees, holiday lights, cardboard shipping boxes, and wrapping paper can be dropped off for free at the East Lewis County Transfer Station, 6745 US Hwy. 12, just east of Morton, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. from Dec. 26 through Jan. 6, Mondays through Saturdays, except on the New Year's Day Holiday. Check in with the scale house for directions on where to drop off the holiday items for recycling. Sensitive Document Shredding Event in Morton
Sensitive Document Shredding: Residential customers may bring up to three bags or boxes of documents they would like shredded, and then recycled. This event will take place in the recycling area of the East Lewis County Transfer Station, 6745 U.S. Hwy 12, near Morton. The LeMay Mobile Shredding truck will be on-site from 9 a.m. to noon.

Lewis County solid waste sites open today
Lewis County transfer stations in Centralia and Morton will be open regular hours today. Centralia is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Morton is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Remember that both sites close their inbound gates 15 minutes prior to facility closure. The Solid Waste Utility Administration Office, however, is closed today. It will resume normal hours on Monday, Nov.28.

I recommend everyone take a brief minute out of their busy schedules to review the attached “Lightning” information from the National Weather Service.
