1. 2016 Budget is Adopted by the Board of County Commissioners

    The 2016 budget was adopted on December 7th, 2015. This action culminates five months of collective work by all departments and elected offices in Lewis County. Budget meetings were held in September and October which allowed each elected official and department director to discuss their individual budgets with the County Commissioners.     GIS stands for Geographic Information System, a computer application that permits geographic and location-related data to be electronically stored and spatially referenced. A GIS allows for digital mapping of land features such as roads, rivers, drainage basins, soil types, hydrology, topography, land use and urban and district boundaries.   3. Jr/Sr Taxing District Levy Documentation Due

    JR/SR Taxing district documentation due to the County Legislative Authority. Budgets must be certified to the Board of County Commissioners. Ordinance/Resolutions are due to the County Assessor to receive their Constitutional 1% increase.     RCW 84.34Land owners who wish current use assessment for property tax purposes on lands eligible for classification under the Open Space program, must submit an application to the Lewis County Assessor's Office by December 31st. Applications taken in the calendar year prior to December 31st are inspected in the next year and either approved or denied. If the application is approved, it is taxed in the subsequent year.
