Lewis County Planning Commission
Purpose The Planning Commission assists the Community Development department in carrying out its duties, including assistance in the preparation and execution of the comprehensive plan and the adoption of development regulations for Lewis County, Washington. The Planning Commission holds workshops and public hearings and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners, whom ultimately vote to approve amendments to the County’s comprehensive plan and development regulations. The Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) holds various meetings during the week in the Historic Courthouse at 351 N.W. North Street, Chehalis, Wash. Unless otherwise noted, meetings take place in the Commissioners’ Hearing Room (Room 223) on the second floor of the Historic Courthouse. Accreditation
On 04/10/12 the Lewis County Coroner’s Office was awarded accreditation through the International Association of Coroners & Medical Examiners (IACME). This process began in 2011 and culminated with the inspection process on 04/10/12. We are now one of only five coroner’s offices in Washington State to have received accreditation through this association.The IAC&ME has established a set of accreditation standards and these encompass administration, facilities, forensics and investigative for a total of 130 standards.
