Community Recycle Event in Randle
Lewis County residents will have an opportunity to recycle scrap metal, appliances, and passenger and light truck tires at a Community Recycle Event in Randle from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 13 at the intersection of U.S. Forest Service Road 47 and Silverbrook Road, next to Mount Adams Riding Club entrance. This event is being offered on a first-come, first-served basis. When the containers are full, they will be closed. Passing of K-9 Axel
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of LCSO K-9 Axel, who served our community from February 2013 until his retirement in August of 2021.Over the course of his career, K-9 Axel and his handler, now-Chief Rick Van Wyck, are credited with the successful capture of 39 suspects and the location of 117 articles of evidence and/or stolen property, as well as the discovery of 397.3 pounds of street drugs and over 1,600 Oxycodone pills, with a total value of over four million dollars.K-9 Axel passed away at home peacefully while surrounded by the Van Wyck family, on August …
