  4. K-9 Narcotics Sniff Leads to Arrest

    On 06-01-2024, at approximately 9:21 p.m., deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of State Route 505, Winlock. Deputy Kasinger and his K-9 partner Kimbo were requested to respond to the scene for a narcotics sniff, and upon being deployed K-9 Kimbo alerted on the vehicle. A search warrant was applied for and granted, resulting in the recovery of over 41 grams of methamphetamine and a meth pipe. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody.     Satellite Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event: Residential customers may drop off their unwanted or left-over oil-based paint, cleaners, lawn, garden, pool chemicals, and other household chemicals from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 8 at the old solid waste Winlock Drop Box, 1105 Winlock-Vader Road, between Winlock and Vader. Please be prepared to leaves your containers at the event. Workers don't have a place to empty them, and return them to customers at satellite events.   7. Household Hazardous Waste Satellite Collection Event: Morton

    Lewis County residents may drop off unwanted household chemicals and fluorescent lights from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at the East Lewis County Transfer Station in Morton as part of the Utility's Household Hazardous Waste Satellite Events. Other recycling opportunities at this event: Styrofoam recycling and E-Cycle Recycling. The event will accept block and food service Styrofoam as long it is clean, empty, dry. Please keep like materials together in a clear plastic bag for drop-off. For E-Cycle items (televisions smaller than 55 inches, CPUs, and monitors) there is a limit of two items per household.
