Recycle paint for free at the SWW Fairgrounds
Lewis County Solid Waste Utility is partnering with Green Sheen Paint and the Southwest Washington Fair to offer a free paint recycling event on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drop off unwanted paint cans and leftover paint. The event will take place in the Blue Pavilion Parking Lot at the Southwest Washington Fairground, 1909 S. Gold Street, Centralia, WA 98531. The event is open to residential and business customers. East end residents: drop off unwanted chemicals in Morton today
Lewis County residents can drop off unwanted household chemicals, up to five gallons of used motor oil, aerosol (spray) cans), and up to 10 burned out fluorescent light bulbs at Hazo Hut at the East Lewis County Transfer Station, 6745 US Hwy 12, Morton, today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. These are the limits for each household each day that the Hazo Hut is open. This time is reserved for residential customers only. Business customers must make an appointment by calling 360-740-1221 or emailing swu@lewiscountywa.gov.

New! STP - Transportation Enhancement Program Grant
The Federal Transportation Acts have provided a 10% set-aside from the Surface Transportation Program (STP) for the enhancement program. The purpose of the transportation enhancement program is to fund projects that allow communities to strengthen the local economy, improve the quality of life, enhance the travel experience for people traveling by all modes and protect the environment. Projects must relate to surface transportation, and include at least one of the twelve (12) qualifying activities contained in the information located here. Applications are due by 5pm, Friday, July 16, 2010.
