Lewis County expects to save thousands from new energy efficient equipment
New HVAC equipment installed in the Lewis County Jail. CHEHALIS – Construction on new energy efficient upgrades to the Lewis County Jail are being completed below cost estimates and ahead of schedule. The contractor on the job has calculated that the new heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment could save the county upwards to $50,000 annually in energy costs.“We’re replacing aging equipment with a modern energy efficient system,” said Lewis County Capital Facilities Manager Doug Carey. …

Collaboration in the face of Rapid Growth
A group of local governments—the City of Chehalis, the Port of Chehalis, Twin Transit, and Lewis County—are collaborating to reckon with the rapid growth expected in south Chehalis and its adjacent urban growth area (UGA). WSDOT TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Closures of SR 508 no longer in effect
Full closures of SR 508 start Monday, Sept. 20 & extend thru Oct 1 MORTON – Drivers on SR 508 near Mosswood Road (milepost 29.8) will encounter full daytime closures of the highway the next few weeks for an ongoing erosion repair and prevention project. SR 508 will be fully closed between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20 through Friday, Oct 1 while crews use a large crane to set the major pieces of an erosion prevention structure in place. The Italian Arum’s common names of ‘Italian Lily’ and ‘Italian Lords and Ladies’ may stoke the gardener’s imagination but the actual plant is far from enticing.
