Forest Threats
A new special report by the Oregon Forest Resources Institute emphasizes the important role of scientific forest management in helping protect Oregon’s forests from multiple threats, including fire, insects and disease. The Lewis County Noxious Weed Control Board encourages you to take a look at the report and the video about the impact that invasive plant species have on our forests. The report does an excellent job in describing the impact that noxious weeds have on our forests. We strive to educate our youth on how to use their own body weight to get exercise daily.Exercise has proven to help decrease anxiety and depression while improving mood and quality of sleep. Lewis County Sheriff’s Marine Patrol deputies promote safety on lakes and rivers
Lewis County Sheriff's Marine Patrol vessel. CHEHALIS – In an effort to ensure safe recreation on Lewis County’s lakes and rivers, deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Marine Patrol Unit regularly visit Lake Mayfield, Riffe Lake, Mineral Lake, Lake Scanewa, and the Chehalis and Cowlitz Rivers. The boating enforcement officers conduct voluntary inspections at boat ramps, checking for the required safety equipment on board vessels. The inspection is intended as public education. Open House set for Lewis County Transportation improvement projects
