Disposal District reschedules meeting to today
Pursuant to RCW 36.58.100 et seq., the Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District (LCSWDD) No. 1, a quasi-municipal corporation, was established by Ordinance 1124 (now LCC 8.15.150) in 1992, after Lewis County and all incorporated cities signed an interlocal agreement to form it. In addition to forming the district, the agreement established flow control, directing all solid waste generated in Lewis County to be disposed of at LCSWDD sites. Representatives from the cities and the County serve as the Executive Advisory Committee to the Disposal District Commissioners, who by statute are the Lewis County Commissioners.The governing board of the LCSWDD …

Do you pick up dead animals? Yes, but only if it is on the county right-of-way (road or ditch); not if it is on private property. Why can’t you just drain this swampy area so the road won’t get flooded? We have strict rules imposed on us by other departments such as Washington State Fish and Wildlife Department, Department of Ecology, and other State/Federal agencies. MRC Tool Bucket Library Open House
The Master Recycler Composters of Lewis County have officially opened the MRC Tool Bucket Library and the Floral Park Sustainability Park. They are inviting the public to an open house from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 22 at Floral Park Sustainability Project, 103 E. Floral St., Centralia, to learn about both community programs. The tool library is just like a book library, but it offers tools for checkout.
