Second weekend of Christmas tree recycling scheduled
Residents can drop off their Christmas trees and burned out holiday lights this weekend today through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot outside the Centralia transfer station at 1411 S. Tower Ave. The event will conclude next weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Please remove all decorations and tinsel from the trees. Donations will be accepted to support WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteer community outreach programs. Flocked and artificial trees will not be accepted. Tire Recycling Event in Morton
A free tire recycling events will be held on May 7 and May 8 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the Bob Lyle Community Center parking lot. The address for the site is 700 Main Street in Morton.The events, which is for Lewis County residents only, will accept 15 tires per person, passenger and light truck tires on or off the rim, and semi-truck tires off the rim.
